This is the Gervase - and that is my great grandfather. I have another picture from a closer angle as well as a copy of this one.

My mistake - i have a picture of both (Petros is this one - Gervase is the other) Still my great grandfather though :)

Quite right, this picture is, indeed, of 'Petros', a Hunslet Engine Company (of Leeds)locomotive, works number 629 of 1895/6.
'Gervase' is a Manning Wardle H Class locomotive, works no. 1472 of 1900. Interestingly, she still exists, but not in recognisable form; she was rebuilt by Sentinel in 1928 as a vertical boiler locomotive and has been preserved in this condition.
